Gardenpalooza 2007

wci-chop-2.jpgThis looks like a lot of fun for those folks in and around Aurora, Oregon. Pondapalooza 2007, over 40 suppliers selling at great prices, and stuff for the kids to do while mom and dad are spending money.

Then there’s this other event in Oregon(you lucky Oregonians!) the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm is having their big Tulip Fest March 20th through April 22nd, 2007. So there’s still time for you bulb addicts to drive on over . . . or hop on a plane. 40 acres is a pretty good size operation, and from the site it looks like a bulb lovers dream . . . oh, to think what my deer would do in a place like that . . . . I shudder.

Oh , by the way Wooden Shoe has a catalog. They carry some other bulbs, but it appears tulips are there thing, it looks like they carry around 150 varieties of tulips.

What I like about their site was their great FYI page, a lot of great nuggets, and solid info concerning tulips and other bulbs, including this gem:

Gravitropism is a big word that means your bulbs are internally programmed so that the roots grow down and the shoots up! So relax if you think your 3 year old planted them upside down, the bulbs will figure it out.

The FYI is a good page well-written. It’s always nice to go right to the expert(s) to get the best info.
