did you see the opening and closing ceremonies at the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing?

Beautiful weren’t they . . . Why yes, yes they were . . .

As a Designer I appreciated how the director of the ceremonies used color, his combinations were fantastic, the forms shapes and transitions from one color to another were outstanding.

I thought it was very inspiring, the creative artistry at work was really something. To be able to use color transition like that reminds me of the way Jekyl used color in her long perennial beds. Great stuff.

Oh, another, Roberto Burle Marx, the designer from Brazil and his color techniques in his fabulous tropical gardens.

I do feel sorry for one person . . . the director of the opening/closing ceremonies in London in 2012.

    We have come up with an event which will capture an audience of all ages. A fascinating display of Chinese culture being portrayed through a series of drumming performances; loud, exciting, and most of all, fun. This will give kids and adults a chance to explore Chinese culture and learn about their traditions through musical performances and text. The audience will be sure to leave knowledgeable and inspired, leaving no one disappointed. The musical instruments such as the Fou and the Guqin were made from clay or bronze and were prevalent more than 3000 years ago. This will educate people of all ages and will keep you entertained from start to finish. The performance will take place at the Lincoln Center in New York City on February 20th, 2009.
