Easter Island Moai

Easter Island statues
These pictures were taken by Wouter Velthius in 2004 at Rapa Nui. I guess most of us would caall these black and white, maybe some would call them monochrome. Either way they are really great. The rest are on his catalog site, which is the latter bookmark(permalink).

One more, these are so great. This is a place I hope to get a chance to go to someday. The power of the mystery . . . the why? Why here? What for? The time it would have taken while just living was so tedious, and time-consuming. Or . . . was it?

By Rick Anderson

The Whispering Crane Institute was originally formed to act as the umbrella organization for the Philosophy of Design Symposium, and other seminars and workshops given by Rick Anderson and Richard L. Dube’. In the year 2000 WCI became a sole proprietorship owned by Rick Anderson. Today the WCI provides design and consultation services for Landscape Contractors, acts as a Green Industry think tank, and provides training for others in the form of workshops, seminars, and individual consulting. The WCI also provides written material, opinions, case-studies and how-to articles for industry trade magazines.

  1. I think the Easter Island stones + landscape must sit very well with your sensibility.

    Thanks for putting these up. Very thought provoking.

    And beautiful.

    Hank;
    Thanks for comment, I always thought these heads were beyond fascinating. Who knows what they were really doing. They sure were a determined bunch though, a very determined bunch.
