Thoughts on the Inaguration

Politics aside, professions aside . . . as I sit looking at the TV awaiting the swearing-in ceremony I am amazed by the size of the crowd on the mall-wow!

Easily the most people I can ever remember seeing in one place at one time.

No matter your party we now need to pull for this president. When the president succeeds, the United States succeeds.

Good luck President Obama.

By Rick Anderson

The Whispering Crane Institute was originally formed to act as the umbrella organization for the Philosophy of Design Symposium, and other seminars and workshops given by Rick Anderson and Richard L. Dube’. In the year 2000 WCI became a sole proprietorship owned by Rick Anderson. Today the WCI provides design and consultation services for Landscape Contractors, acts as a Green Industry think tank, and provides training for others in the form of workshops, seminars, and individual consulting. The WCI also provides written material, opinions, case-studies and how-to articles for industry trade magazines.

  1. My first question as I watched the crowd was, “Did they fence around the trees to prevent compaction?” I am youthfully optimistic that as the trampled and yellowed grass begins to green and stand erect, our Nation will have found a new sense of enthusiasm and we can all grow together.

They did not fence anywhere around trees or do any work to prevent destruction of The Mall.

I had just done some reading about The Mall and how things are falling apart and the grounds are in terrible shape.

I had been reading about this on a Gov’t site(maybe the Natl Parks site)why I was there I don’t know . . . . an aside the Nat’l Arboretum is in trouble and woefully under-funded.

So The Mall needs lots of work, it’s heavily used and visited, you would think there would be some priority to maintain the most important park in our nation.

    Neptune?
