Here is a video report from the scene. You can see how severe and widespread the damage. Thankfully everyone is okay.
There are great people over at OARDC and they will bounce back quickly. I have great faith in them to do so even if it’s so bad that all classes are cancelled they’ve closed down the campus.
The Secrest Arboretum is on of my favorite places to visit in Ohio and I hope the damage was slight to all those old specimens that grow all through the arboretum. We don’t see much evidence either way in the report, but it’s understandable in this initial report they would focus on infrastructure.
Any APLD members who’ve been around awhile remember this site hosting the APLD Summer meeting in 1991 or 1992. I can’t quite remember which Summer it was, age I guess!
