The Whispering Crane Institute was originally formed to act as the umbrella organization for the Philosophy of Design Symposium, and other seminars and workshops given by Rick Anderson and Richard L. Dube’. In the year 2000 WCI became a sole proprietorship owned by Rick Anderson. Today the WCI provides design and consultation services for Landscape Contractors, acts as a Green Industry think tank, and provides training for others in the form of workshops, seminars, and individual consulting. The WCI also provides written material, opinions, case-studies and how-to articles for industry trade magazines.

  1. Stunning photos contrasting the majesty of nature with the futility and inappropriate way we build and landscape. We seem forever fixed in thinking in regular repeating patterns and nearly always work against rather than with nature. There is an overwhelming sense of loneliness in these photos as if all the people have left and all that remains is their puny attempts at controlling nature. Keep the blogs going Rick, some great stuff happening here.

As usual you add greatly to the dialog I hope to get started, not just on landscape design, but all design with the out of doors and all materials with the out of doors. With your words of encouragement I hope to keep going.
