ANLA Mgmt Clinic, Opening Morning

Clinic 2010
Clinic 2010

Well the Clinic kicked off this morning with a lively start. Norm Brodsky was the kickoff keynote and he delivered a timely message on business, employees, and customers.

A couple of nuggets from the talk.

“Customers remember what you do, don’t forget that.”

Another one . . .

“If you don’t have a life plan, forget about having a business plan.”

Then this one when Brodsky was talking about some numbers concerning customer retention . . .

“1st of all, I want to tell you, statistics are made up on the spot!”

There were several competing sessions late morning and I went to the Chuck Zamorra talk on goal setting.

Zamorra had spent time as a educator so he put that experience to work in his talk. Handouts had plenty of blank space(s) where we jotted down some key words, phrases, and so forth.

The talk worked out to be part PowerPoint, part home spun and parts write it down on the handout. Zamorra delivered a good session but the information was not really new, just delivered in a different package and new ribbon.

I would have to say he’s worth the effort to catch a seminar or two.

A couple of interesting phrases

“Out on the limb is where the fruit grows.”

Another . . .

“They don’t write biographies about losers.”

This is one that I had forgotten . . .

“You teach dogs tricks, you inspire human beings.”

This was in reference to how some teachers teach.

Last night the Hospitality suites were well attended, the talk and interaction was lively with high energy all-around.

I will post on the afternoon talks I attend sometime later today.
